Organizational App: Notion

I’m going to take a break from showcasing books (this month) as my monthly recommendation. Instead, I want to share with you my newest favorite task & project management tool Notion! Some of you may already use it as we were a bit late to the game but holy moly if you enjoy organizing your digital life, this is going to be your tool. It’s fully customizable, offers tons of integrations and it’s genuinely fun to be in. Oh, not to mention it’s FREE!

TV Series: Abbott Elementary

Abbott Elementary is one of those shows where you hear everyone talking about it and it's truly because it is just that good. The show is a mockumentary sitcom television series a la Office/ Parks & Rec, that follows an under-funded public elementary in Philly. The show is heartwarming, poignant, and most importantly, funny. Not to mention the characters are *chefs kiss*. Another massive perk, the 2nd season just started which means there is enough content to binge while also being able to get on the bandwagon early (I've still only seen the 1st & last episodes of GOT because I was simply too late to the fandom). You can watch it on Hulu or HBO Max.

Youtube Channel: Van Wives

The Vanwives are an epic YouTube duo that are, despite their name, not living in a Van, but rather are building their own self-sustaining cabin in the Canadian woods. For many years they traveled in their van while documenting their adventures, but I have been particularly inspired by their remote living experience. They tackle truly every project, no matter how big or small - big as in building a Geodesic Dome just the two of them, or small, as in trellising tomatoes - with absolute positivity, excitement and confidence. So, if you’re looking for something that’s fun, lighthearted but also gets you inspired to tackle some of those projects you think you could do yourself, but haven’t had the push, watch them. Their confidence is contagious.

Book: On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous

think that this list wouldn’t be made if there wasn’t a book on it, so I am here to keep the tradition alive. This month I was able to read a lot compared to the other months, and one of them was “On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous” by Ocean Vuong, a Vietnamese-American writer. The story is a type of biography but it’s mainly a long letter written by the author to his mother who can’t read. Written so beautifully, so poetically, and with such raw experiences that will leave you thinking about this book long after you finish it. Many times I cried over this book, mainly because I could relate so much to his experience as a child of immigrants and a first-generation college student. This book is definitely on my top list, and I can’t wait to pick up another work from the author.

Logo | Brand Identity

We are so excited to finally be able to share this project! We were tasked with creating a logo & visual identity for our client and dear friend, Lana Wood who is a rad CEO as well as a Humanist Celebrant. Our task was to create a brand that encapsulated Lana's bold & colorful personality & style while also speaking to the quite literal cycle of life. We are quite proud of our ability to encapsulate so many ideas of 'cycle' into one beautiful design.
